Text Box:
If you ever have the opportunity to meet Elvis, do it!  He is very gracious and accomodating to his fans!  I met him this year, March 22 (his birthday) at a special show at IceWorks and had my photo taken with him!  He also  autographed a photo for me AND I got a slice of his birthday cake after the show!  If you really need more info, click Here.

Another Elvis Sighting!

Text Box:
Champions on Ice Summer Tour began on April 4, 2003 at Baltimore, MD.  The next performance was in Philadelphia at the First Union Center.  John and I had great seats in the tenth row in the straight-away on the side by the tunnel where the skaters step out onto the ice.  We got some great photos which I will post in the near future.  On the way home, I joked about going to the next day's show which was at the Continental Arena in East Rutherford, NJ.  Another 2 hour drive, but well worth it!  We had to buy tickets the day of the show, something I don't recommend unless absolutely necessary!  We ended up on the lower level but row 26 (the last row) also very near the tunnel again.  The show was great again!  Elvis is skating to "The Middle" by Jimmy Eat World this year.  I have posted  a slideshow  with pictures from that number taken at both shows.  We had no "meet and greet" passes at either show.  But for the NJ show, we hunted around until we found a bus that we thought might be the bus the skaters take.  There was a great crowd of about 20-30 people waiting with us.  We were told the skaters were leaving from inside, on the bus.  We waited anyways, in hopes that maybe they'd stop the bus and get off.  Suddenly some of the skaters came out.  A few had their own cars waiting out near us and didn't take the bus!  I got autographs from:  Victor Kraatz, Vladimir Besedin, Artur Dmitriev, Peter Tchernyshev, and OF COURSE(!) Elvis!  I also saw and got some pictures of:  Shae-Lynn Bourne, Tomianina and Marinin, Irina Slutskya, Elena Sokolova, and Evgeny Plushenko.  The whole Elvis meeting happened so fast, but John called him over and I was frantically looking for his page in the program with frozen fingers!  I dropped my sharpie on the ground and he picked it up and gave it back.  John mentioned to him that we'd met him a few weeks ago at IceWorks and he said "Oh yeah! How are you?"  He shook my hand and autographed my program and then, he put his arm around me and posed for a picture without being asked!  I put my arm around him too and John finally realized he had a camera in his hand!  He took the picture and Elvis' mom had pulled their car around to where we were so he said goodbye and jumped into the car and they were off!  I found myself speechless once again other than saying "hi", "thanks" and "bye" but he seemed kind of in a hurry too.  I stand by my earlier posting, he is a great guy. It's fun to meet someone who takes time with the fans.
